Friday Fun #9

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read and is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers.

Question of the week:
Who is your to-die-for book crush? What do you think they look like? Add an image to make us all happy.
Answer: Hm... that's a toughy since I have a few but I can't get enough of Guardian Belikov from the Vampire Academy series. If you've read the books, the first picture reminds me of when Rose and Dimitri are entranced by the charmed necklace.

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend, hosted by Crystal from Reading Between the Wines. This is a Friday blog hop with the objective to find and visit other book blogs that share the same interest as you, namely books geared towards the 18 & over crowd, and make some new friends!

Question of the week:
What are the Top 5 Books that you are looking forward to in 2013?

Answer: Well I will admit that unless I'm following a series, I don't really know about books that are coming out in the extensive future but I managed to come up with five :)

The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead
In the aftermath of a forbidden moment that rocked Sydney to her core, she finds herself struggling to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch--a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood--or else she might be next.

Winterblaze by Kristen Callihan
Poppy Lane is keeping secrets. Her powerful gift has earned her membership in the Society for the Suppression of Supernaturals, but she must keep both her ability and her alliance with the Society from her husband, Winston.

Drawn into the darkest depths of London, Winston must fight an evil demon that wants to take away the last hope of reconciliation with his wife. As a former police inspector, Winston has intelligence and logic on his side. But it will take the strength of Poppy's love for him to defeat the forces that threaten to tear them apart.

Me, Him, Them and It by Caela Carter
When Evelyn decided to piss off her parents with a bad reputation, she wasn't planning to ruin her valedictorian status. She also wasn't planning to fall for Todd-the guy she was just using for sex. And she definitely wasn't planning on getting pregnant. When Todd turns his back on her, Evelyn's not sure where to go. Can a distant mother, a cheating father, an angry best friend, and a (thankfully) loving aunt with adopted daughters of her own help Evelyn make the heart-wrenching decisions that follow?

Lover At Last by J.R. Ward
Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society.

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself.

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one.

Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs
Shapeshifter Mercy Thompson's life is calming down, at least enough that she can focus on mundane matters like Black Friday sales. But on her return, Mercy is unable to contact her mate, Alpha Adam Hauptman, or the other members of their pack. All she knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam's disappearance may be related - and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from the most unlikely of allies: the vampire seethe.

Question of the week:
Apart from being readers, many of us collect books on a specific subject or by a particular author. What books or which author do you collect?

Answer: There is only one author that I buy books from before even reading them, and that is Richelle Mead. I very rarely buy books and usually when I do, I buy books that I've already read and know that I will re-read. I don't have the space or the lifestyle to collect books so I need to be picky with the books that I keep. However, I can't help but buy every book that woman comes out with. I have a whole shelf pretty much dedicated to her on my bookcase.

  2. I've not read anything by Richelle Mead. I will have to move some up on my TBR list if they're good enough for you to buy without reading. :)

  4. That's a great recommendation for your favorite author! I buy too many books and a lot of them end up just clogging my shelves waiting to be read. Your example is a good one to follow!

  9. I don't usually buy books that I've already read, but that's an interesting way of choosing what to buy. I'm still reading the first Vampire Academy book, but I'm liking it so far :)
