Question of the week:
What's the worst cover of a book that you've read and loved?
Answer:
- Knight of Hearts by Suzie Quint. - I just thought with everything that goes on in this story, you look at it and see cowboy & gambling and that isn't what the book is about. I will say that the female on the cover does match the description of Rachel.
- Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGure- I don't understand the whole butterfly in the jar. Does it symbolize the protagonist being suffocated by her psychotic boyfriend? Or just a pretty butterfly in a jar? I don't get it.
- Conversion by S.C. Stephens- It's a story about a half human/half vampire who in his mid twenties will change and convert into a full vampire. To me, the cover just doesn't do the story justice. It's so bland that you are quick to overlook it.
- Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs- The cover looks a bit too amateurish to me. There is a lot of photoshop going on. I think it could have been done a little bit better.

Question of the week:
Please share with us five fun facts about yourself.
Answer: Lets see...
- If you've called Joshua Tree National Park, chances are that you've spoken to me. I work the visitor center so I'm jumping between selling souveniers, handing out park maps and talking to people on the phone.
- The Mr. and my first dance as husband and wife was to "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica.
- I'm a huge kitchen gadget freak. My dream home consists of a massive kitchen to house all my stuff. I own popcorn popper, quesadilla maker, milkshake maker, doughnut baking pan, juicer oh and my all time favorite... kitchen aid mixer.
- The Mr. and I met in high school. He was the popular kid in school and a mutual friend introduced us during lunch. Half way through lunch he had forgotten my name and I told him that I already told him my name once, if he couldn't remember it, that wasn't my fault. Apparently not many people sassed him like that. He wound up taking an interest in me and we've been together ever since.
- My favorite color is lime green. Not only do I own clothes, towels and various items in lime green but I recently bought a 2011 vehicle in lime green. HaHa It's my party car.
Old follower stopping by,
ReplyDeleteI came across a sci-fi with a similar cover, a butterfly in a jar. And you're right Alpha & Omega looks amateurish.

The main problem with those photos is that the images weren't really blended well, there is nothing that's really eye-catching, or not too much creativity. New follower.

Love your 5 :) Your kitchen sounds like so much fun to play in! I'd love to have all kinds of gadgets but have a pretty small kitchen. I do have a KitchenAid Mixer and OMG LOVE it!

Oh that's so funny. Hubby and I met in high school too. I, however, was the new girl so you can imagine all the horrible looks and mean girl things that I had to put up with when I started dating the guy that most girls wanted. Not cool, but what can you do. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree on the covers as well. What were they thinking. I think Beautiful Disaster was a big WTF moment for me. I just don't get it. Oh well.
Thanks for stopping by my page. I hope you had a great weekend.
