Friday Fun

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read and is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers.

Question of the Week:

Go count the number of unread books sitting on your shelf. How many?

Answer: On my actual bookshelf that belong to me, 21. On my nook.... probably about the same number. I don't typically buy books unless I know that I am going to reread them again. With all the moves we do in the military, it isn't very feasible to have an insane amount of books, especially if I don't read them.

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend, hosted by Crystal from Reading Between the Wines. This is a Friday blog hop with the objective to find and visit other book blogs that share the same interest as you, namely books geared towards the 18 & over crowd, and make some new friends!

Question of the Week:

Do you read multiple books at a time or stick to one?

Answer: I have never been able to read more than one book at a time. I have tried but then I get characters and plot lines mixed up. Plus once I get into a story, the last thing I want to do is put it down halfway through when the story starts getting good and switch to a new book. I also cannot start reading a new book before writing a review because I get a little jumbled on details between the two books. I guess my brain just doesn't have the capability to read multiple books at once and keep the details separate.

  1. Yeah, that makes sense. I've been in this house since I was 5, so I haven't had to move at all! It's annoying having to move so many books from home to school, but I only take like 15 at a time. I can see how it would be annoying! Happy Friday!

  3. I feel like a loner on the multiple book-reading, lol. I've generally got more than one review book going at a time. If I've got nothing my review queue (I don't remember the last time that happened), then I read one book at a time.

  4. Sorry I can't count them all. Based on the number on my Kindle and my Kobo eReader, there are over 300 unread books.

I do a bit of both depending on what I'm reading. When I'm into a book, especially with category romance, I don't read anything else until I'm done. For some longer reads, I take a break and read something else before going back to finish the book.

I'm a new follower. Have a great weekend.

  5. There are times when I have to read more than one at a time. It's not my preferred method, but time constraints and life have a way of screwing with my schedule. If it's a great book though, I will usually read it in one sitting.

  8. Hopping through. It's definitely a hassle to pack books. I learned that when we moved. When we're in the same place for awhile, I want to buy more books.

  9. I am the exact same way when it comes to reading books. One at a time! And I don't read another one until the review is written. Have a great weekend.

  11. I;m with you, I get so wrapped up in the stories I just can't even think about putting them down for a new one until I finish. Though I do have a habit of letting my reviews pile up because I want to jump right into the next story. Thankfully though I have a good memory!
Hope you had a great weekend and thanks for participating!

  12. Hi! I saw your comment on Parajunkie's review for Cinder and I cracked up. I guess I hadn't seen HEA before in a sentence and you used it very well.

I thought I'd ask if you knew more great terms and if I could quote you writing about terms? It was rather inspiring since I space ARC the other day and blabbed about it.

Great blog name!! :-) New GFC
