In My Mailbox (1)

In My Mailbox is Kristi's (aka The Story Siren) way of getting bloggers together to write about what new books they just got their hands on for the week. It doesn't have to be books that you actually received in the mail, it can be books that you bought in a store or even books that you picked up from your local library.

Since I love reading books and seeing what other people are reading I decided to start a readers blog. Now most know me for Holy Cannoli Recipes but I am a huge reader, so much so that I wouldn't be surprised if the librarians know me by name now.

The books that I picked up this week from the library are

Raised By Wolves (Raised By Wolves #1)
by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Adopted by the Alpha of a werewolf pack after a rogue wolf brutally killed her parents right before her eyes, fifteen-year-old Bryn knows only pack life, and the rigid social hierarchy that controls it. That doesn't mean that she's averse to breaking a rule or two.

But when her curiosity gets the better of her and she discovers Chase, a new teen locked in a cage in her guardian's basement, and witnesses him turn into a wolf before her eyes, the horrific memories of her parents' murders return. Bryn becomes obsessed with getting her questions answered, and Chase is the only one who can provide the information she needs.

But in her drive to find the truth, will Bryn push too far beyond the constraints of the pack, forcing her to leave behind her friends, her family, and the identity that she's shaped?

Evermore
(The Immortals #1)
by Alyson Noel

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste…

Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

  1. Ooh, Raised by Wolves. I actually got to review the second book, Trial by Fire, without having read the first, but I really want to. Evermore is, in my opinion at least, the best of the Immortals series. I hope you enjoy!!

    Happy reading!!

Yay! I'm your first follower and I must say, I really like the background to your blog. Did you design the image?

  2. Yay! Thanks for following. I wish I could say that I designed the background picture but I actually found it on diviantArt from an artist called Vladstudio. Unfortunately, I am not that artistic. :o)

I have heard that Evermore was the best book from the series and then it seemed like people lost interest after but I am going to give the series a shot anyways. I liked the first book so I am crossing my fingers that I will like the others too.

I saw a giveaway for Trial By Fire and that is how I came across the series. I cannot wait to crack it open and start reading it today.
